Phideaux Xavier

Phideaux is a progressive rock band from USA, which was founded by Phideaux Xavier together with friends and Rich Hutchins to life.

History

Phideaux Xavier has already played in several local rock bands in New York City as Sally Dick & Jane ( Mirkwood ), The Sun Machine and Satyricon. In 2002 he began composing material for the first official CD of the band.

2003

2003 Phideaux publish their first CD, Fiendish, who came to Germany in 2004.

Strictly speaking, this is not the first book, but already the second publication. Already in 1993, the band released their factory Friction, but which was sold by any major label and is now regarded as a rarity.

2004

2005

In 2005, the band released the album Chupacabras, containing the same, epic symphonic progressive rock song. In addition, the song is re-recorded the previous titanium band Phideaux Xavier and drummer Rich Hutchins, Satyricon. In the same year the album 313, which is reminiscent of the sound of the late 1960s and praised by the critics appears.

2006

In 2006, the band released the highly productive concept album The Great Leap, which in turn finds high attention from critics. The particularly against the background that in a very short time three albums were released. This album is the first of a trilogy that deals with authoritarian governments.

2007

2007, a more orchestral, symphonic progressive rock concept album will be launched on the market, Doomsday Afternoon again. This is the second part of the trilogy begun with The Great Leap.

2009

2009 publish Phideaux Album Number Seven, which is not part of the trilogy begun with Doomsday Afternoon. It deals with the life of a dormouse.

Style

Phideaux develop quickly from art rock with folk influences on your first CD towards progressive rock with influences from Psychedelic further. It certainly also other genres such as orchestral arrangements, rock, pop and mainstream use. Especially the blending of different styles makes it hard even critics to assign the band a unique style.
