Phil Keaggy

Philip Tyler Keaggy ( born March 23, 1951 in Youngstown, Ohio ) is a guitarist, singer and composer of modern Christian music. He has published more than 50 albums and contributed to many more as a studio musician.

He was seven times winner of the Dove Award from the Gospel Music Association for best instrumental album and was twice nominated for a Grammy Award in the Best Rock Gospel Album category.

Keaggy grew up with nine siblings on a small farm in Hubbard, Ohio. He graduated from high school in Austintown, where he graduated in 1970.

Despite a small disability, he lost at the age of four years, half the middle finger of his right hand, he began to play with ten guitar. For the readers of Guitar Player magazine polls he has been repeatedly voted the best fingerstyle guitarist.
