Philip Reese Uhler

Philip Reese Uhler ( born June 3, 1835 in Baltimore, † October 21, 1913 ) was an American librarian and entomologist. He conducted research on Heteroptera ( bugs).

Uhler studied at Harvard University, among others, Louis Agassiz.

In 1864 he was appointed head of the insect museum and the library of the Museum of Comparative Zoology at Harvard University. Later he worked at the Peabody Library in Baltimore.
