But not only the ascetic way of life and his piety he impressed the people, even the humor was not too short at the Jesuit priest: He was planning to carnival time with knitting, Scourge and a cart in fools clothes to draw and to proclaim by Ellwangen: " sündgen subheadings her fools! / Up to the sky goes the ride, / If penitential scourge and not saving her / Drum rises to my cart! ", But this was forbidden him by his superiors.

On Father Philip and Prince Provost Johann Christoph Adelmann of Adelmannsfelden the construction of the church dates from Schoenberg: As had taken on September 14, 1681 during a thunderstorm in the house bird in the smith street lightning, and threatened the entire city; promised the Prince Provost his friend Jeningen to build today's Schoenberg church, the city should be spared. Then arose between the years 1682 and 1685 a baroque pilgrimage church on the Schoenberg. The already existing chapel with the miraculous image of the Mother of God has been integrated into this church.
