Philipp of Bavaria

Philipp Wilhelm of Bavaria ( * 9./22 September 1576 in Munich, .. † 21./18 May 1598 in Dachau) was bishop of Regensburg.

Life

The son of Duke Wilhelm V and Renata of Lorraine the Pious studied together with his younger brother Ferdinand theology and philosophy at the University of Ingolstadt. He received as income positions as canons and canon in Cologne, Mainz, Trier and Salzburg and was just three years old in 1579 Prince-Bishop of Regensburg.
