Philippe Bär

Philippe Bär, OSB ( born July 29, 1928 in Manado, the Dutch East Indies; civil Ronald Bear) is a retired bishop of Rotterdam and the Netherlands Military Ordinariate.

Life

Ronald Bear joined the Congregation of the Benedictine and received on 26 July 1959, the ordination. Pope John Paul II appointed him on 15 January 1982 Titular Bishop of Leges and Auxiliary Bishop of Rotterdam.

The Bishop of Rotterdam Adrianus Johannes Simonis dedicated it on 27 December of the same year the bishop; Co-consecrators were Martien Antoon Jansen, Bishop Emeritus of Rotterdam, and Theodorus Henricus Johannes Zwartkruis, Bishop of Haarlem. His motto is Christo et Ecclesiae ("Christ and the Church ").

On November 22, 1982, he was appointed as Military Vicar of the Dutch military vicariate and the collection of the diocese on July 21, 1986, he was elevated to the first bishop of the Military Ordinariate. On October 19, 1983, he was appointed bishop of Rotterdam. From his office he resigned on 13 March 1993.
