Philippe Kourouma

Philippe Kourouma ( born November 29, 1932 in samoe, Guinea, † 10 February 2009) was Roman Catholic Bishop of Nzérékoré ( N'Zérékoré ) in Guinea.

Life

Philippe Kourouma received on 8 September 1962, the ordination. Pope John Paul II appointed him in 1979 for the third Bishop of Nzérékoré. He received his episcopal consecration on 15 December 1979 by the Bishop of Man in the Ivory Coast and later Cardinal Bernard Agre; Archbishop Francis Carroll were co-consecrators SMA, former Apostolic Nuncio, and Jean -Baptiste Maria Cissé, Bishop of Sikasso in Mali.

Kourouma was president of the Bishops' Conference in Guinea. In 2007, his letter of resignation in accordance with Can. 401 § 1 by Benedict XVI. granted.
