Pho Tak District

Amphoe Pho Tak ( Thai: อำเภอ โพธิ์ ตาก ) is a Thai district ( Amphoe - administrative district ) in the province of Nong Khai. The Nong Khai province is located in the north of the northeast region of the so-called Isaan in Thailand.

Geography

The Nong Khai province is located about 615 kilometers northeast of Bangkok along the Mekong River, which is here the border to Laos.

Amphoe Pho Tak borders the following counties (from west clockwise): Amphoe to the Sangkhom, Si Chiang Mai and Tha Bo in Nong Khai province, as well as Amphoe Ban Phue the province of Udon Thani.

History

Pho Tak was on 1 July 1997 initially as a small district ( King Amphoe ) was established by the three Tambon Pho Tak, Phon Thong and Dan Si Suk from Amphoe Si Chiang Mai were separated.

On 15 May 2007, the Thai government had decided that all 81 King Amphoe to rise in the simple Amphoe status to unify the administration. With the publication in the Royal Gazette " Issue 124 chapter 46" of 24 August 2007, this decision officially entered into force.

Management

Amphoe Pho Tak is in three communities ( tambon) divided, in turn, in 27 villages ( Muban ) are divided.

There are also three " Tambon Administrative Organizations" (TAO, องค์การ บริหาร ส่วน ตำบล - administrative organizations) in the district.
