Phobia is a Established in 1990, American grindcore band from Orange County.
History
Phobia was founded in 1990 by singer, bassist and guitarist Shane MacLachlan. The history of the band has been characterized for the formation of many line-up changes. The first studio album Return to Desolation published in 1994 by Relapse Records, appeared in the following years so far a total of seven studio albums, the last titled Remnants of Filth in 2012 at Willowtip Records. In addition Phobia published numerous singles, EPs and splits. Phobia graduated in the band's history live performances with bands like Chaos UK and Napalm Death and performed at festivals such as the Obscene Extreme genre.
Style
The band plays classic grindcore in the vein of bands like Repulsion, Terrorizer and Napalm Death. One of the main influences of Phobia addition to those grindcore bands of the 1980s hardcore punk English and Swedish embossing.
