Phreatichthys andruzzii is a Höhlenfischart from the carp family (Cyprinidae ). It is the only species of the genus of Phreatichthys, and comes exclusively in cave waters under the oasis Bud - Bud ( type locality ) and in the radius of 30 km in central Somalia ago

Phreatichthys andruzzii is just over 6 inches long, is scaleless and blind.

It is the first discovered animal, which does not align its internal biological clock according to the sunlight. It lives after an unusually long " day " rhythm whose period can be up to 47 hours. This rhythm is insensitive to stimulation by light. Studies, however, that other external stimuli (eg, regular food supply ) could bring these fish to adjust their rhythm.
