Physoclisti

Physoclisten (also Physoclisti or Physoklisten ) is the name for a group of bony fish. In these, the swim bladder is closed, ie the embryonic scale connecting passage between the intestine and swim bladder ( ductus pneumaticus ) in the adult ( adult ) condition no longer exists (as opposed to the Physostomen ). The gas exchange takes place at the Physoclisten on blood vessels that connect closely to the air-bladder. The gas exchange is made possible by gas glands.

The Physoclisten include, for example, Perciformes, sticklebacks or cod.
