Pi Sagittarii

Albaldah (Arabic البلطة, DMG al - Balta, ax ') is the proper name of the multi- star π Sagittarii (Pi Sagittarii, short π Sgr ) in the constellation of Sagittarius ( Sagittarius ). It has an apparent magnitude of 2.89 mag and belongs to the spectral class F2II. Albaldah is 440 light years away from Earth.

Albaldah has two companions in close orbits. Pi Sagittarii B is 0.1 arcseconds, or at least 13 astronomical units ( AU) of Albaldah away. The second companion, Pi Sagittarii C, is located 0.4 arcseconds, or at least 40 AU.

Albaldah can be covered as ekliptiknaher star from the moon, and in rare cases of planets in our solar system. The next occultation of a planet by Albaldah will take place on November 17, 2035 by the planet Venus.
