Pibor

Pibor is a small town in southern Sudan. It is located in the state of Jonglei and is the capital of the county Pibor. The village is also called Pibor Post or Fort Bruce. It has an airport ( Pibor Airport ).

The city was known as a place of bloody conflict between militias of the Lou Nuer people, and the people of the Murle in the December 2011 and January 2012.

About 65 kilometers east of Pibor is the Boma National Park.
