Wilson's Spruce ( Picea wilsonii ) is a species of the family (Pinaceae ). It is native to China.

Description

Wilson spruce grows as evergreen tree that can reach heights of growth of up to 50 meters and diameter at breast height of up to 1.3 meters. The crown is pyramidal. The gray Stammborke flakes off in irregular shaped pieces. Wilson spruce grows at elevations from 1400 to 2800 meters. The species grows mainly in the mountains and in river valleys.

Use

Wilson spruce is planted in China as ornamental tree and is also used for reforestation. The wood is used as construction timber, for the production of poles and furniture as well as for the production of pulp.
