Picture Me Broken

Picture Me Broken is a metalcore band from Redwood City, California, who stood in the meantime at Megaforce Records. The debut album Wide Awake was released on 6 July 2010 via Megaforce.

History

Picture Me Broken was founded in 2005 by frontwoman Layla Brooklyn Allman and bassist Austin Dunn. Both known each other since school and wanted to start a band since the age of 12. Inspired, the group of groups like Paramore, Flyleaf and Heart, all of which have female lead singers. Their musical influences, however, are groups such as Blessthefall, Before Their Eyes and Scary Kids Scaring Kids.

At the MTV Video Music Awards 2009, the group won in the Best Breakout Bay Area Artist category. In the same year the group was to be found among the 20 most famous Unsigned Bands in the PureVolume ranking.

Their song Dearest ( I'm So Sorry) from the eponymous EP, which was published in 2009 can be heard in the video game Rock Band 2.

Since 2011, the group is fronted by singer and keyboardist Layla Brooklyn Allman at StandBy Records. Other musicians are Dante Phoenix ( lead guitar ), Jimmy Strimpel (guitar), Austin Dunn ( bass) and Connor Lung (drums).

Picture Me Broken already played on the Warped Tour in San Francisco (2009) and also at SXSW (2010). In addition, the group opener was for Saosin in 2009. After the group moved to StandBy Records, the group was working on a new EP. This is called Mannequins and will be released on December 18, 2012.
