Piecki, Warmian-Masurian Voivodeship

Piecki ( German: whip village) is a village located in powiat Mrągowski in the Warmia and Mazury, Poland. It is also seat of the rural municipality ( gmina wiejska ).

Geography

Piecki is located south of the lake Wągiel about 56 km east of Olsztyn in the area of ​​Mazury. Near the village rises the river Dajna and Droga Krajowa 59 runs through the town as well as the Droga wojewódzka 610

History

The village was founded in 1401 by Piecki Ulrich von Jungingen. On 26 June 1996, a new coat of arms was introduced.

From 1975 - 1998 the village belonged to the Province of Olsztyn.
