The thick -billed shrike crow ( Strepera graculina ) is an Australian songbird of the family of Shrikes Crows.
Features
The 50 cm long thick -billed shrike crow is a predominantly black bird with a white crescent on the wings and white tail base and top. The iris is yellow. Your reputation is a loud " karrawong ".
Occurrence
The Thick -billed Shrike Crow lives in open forests, bush, fields and edges of cities in eastern Australia. In the north of its range it is a sedentary bird; in the south it travels between higher and lower regions back and forth.
Behavior
Outside the breeding season, the thick -billed shrike crow lives in large flocks. For food include carrion, small vertebrates, bird eggs, insects and berries. The bird impales prey on thorns or stores in columns and crotches.
Reproduction
The female broods from July to January in a cup-shaped nest in a crotch three eggs for about three weeks out. With three weeks, the young birds fledge.
