Piedras Negras ( real name: Yokib ) is an archaeological site of the Maya on the Usumacinta River in what is now Guatemala.

The site has been inhabited by about 400 BC, for the first time. In its heyday in the eighth century AD Piedras Negras was one of the centers that controlled trade on the Usumacinta. From this period, a large part of the total of sixty sculpted stone monuments. Counter 800, the city was abandoned like many other cities of the Maya; in modern times it was rediscovered by Teobert painter.
