Pierre DuMaine

Roland Pierre Dumaine ( born August 2, 1931 in Paducah ) is retired Bishop of San Jose in California.

Life

Pierre Dumaine received on 15 June 1957, the ordained priest for the Archdiocese of San Francisco.

Pope Paul VI. appointed him on 24 April 1978 Titular Bishop of Sarda and Auxiliary Bishop of San Francisco. He received his episcopal consecration of the Archbishop of San Francisco, John Raphael Quinn, on 29 June of the same year; Co-consecrators were Joseph Thomas McGucken, Archbishop Emeritus of San Francisco, and William Joseph McDonald, Auxiliary Bishop of San Francisco.

On January 27, 1981, Pope John Paul II appointed appointed the first bishop of the diocese erected on the same date in San Jose California and is introduced into the office on 18 March of the same year. From his office he resigned on 27 November 1999.
