Pierre Gadonneix

Pierre Gadonneix ( * 1943 in New York) is a manager and president of the French electricity company EDF.

Life

Pierre Gadonneix studied until 1962 at the École polytechnique. From 1972 to 1975 he earned his doctorate at Harvard University. In 1969 he founded the computer science corporate SEFI. Three years later he sold it and continued to study at Harvard. In 1976 he went into politics and became an adviser to the French Ministry of Industry. In 1978 he became head of the metal and electrical industry.

From 1987 to 2004 he worked for Gaz de France ( GdF ). First, he was general manager of the company. He was promoted to President in 1996.

From 2004 to 2009 he was the President of the Electricité de France (EdF ). His successor since 2009 is Henri Proglio.
