Pierre Marion

Pierre Marion ( born January 24, 1921 in Marseille, † 17 May, 2010 Louviers ) is a former French official and intelligence official. He was an opponent of the Franco-German rapprochement.

Marion graduated from the École Polytechnique, he worked in the aviation administration. From 1942 to 1972 he had a seat in the Directorate of Air France. On June 22, 1981 Marion was used by François Mitterrand as head of SDECE. Under his leadership, it was restructured and renamed the DGSE. On November 12, 1982, he was replaced by Pierre Lacoste at the DGSE.
