Pierre Martin Rémi Aucher-Éloy

Pierre Martin Rémi diver - Éloy ( born October 2, 1792 in Blois, † October 6, 1838 in Djulfa, Iran) was a French botanist and explorer. Its official botanical author abbreviation is " diver "; sooner was the abbreviation "Even. " is used.

After his training in Orléans and Paris, he moved to Istanbul in 1830 to collect plants in the Orient. He wanted to create a herbarium of plants of the Orient. From 1830 to 1838 he was traveling on extended journeys in Asia Minor and the Near East. These trips led in 1830 to Egypt, Syria, Cyprus and the Greek island of Kos. In the following years he combed through large parts of Turkey, Greece, Iran and other countries. His collected plants he sold to the Muséum national d' histoire naturelle in Paris. Exhausted and sick, he died in Djulfa near Isfahan on 6 October 1838.

His work relations de voyages en Orient de 1830 à 1838 appeared posthumously in 1843.
