Life

Belleval studied from 1584 medicine at the universities of Montpellier and Avignon. Approval 1587th After that he was a general practitioner in Avignon Pezenas. In 1593 he became professor of anatomy and botany at the Medical University in Montpellier, where he worked under the reign of Henry IV to the Jardin des Plantes de Montpellier in 1593 founded the first botanical garden in France after the model of the Botanical Garden of Padua, founded in 1545.
