Pierre-Sébastien Laurentie

Pierre -Sébastien Laurentie ( born January 21, 1793 in Le Houga, Gers department, † February 9, 1876 in Paris) was a French historian and journalist.

After studying Laurentie got a job as a teacher at the Collège Saint -Sever; later he moved to the same position at the Collège Stanislas in Paris.

1818 appointed one Laurentie to Repetenten polytechnique for the historical course at the École and five years later he was promoted to Inspector General of the public educational system. As such, he was regarded as one of the foremost defenders of the Catholic- monarchist ideology.

Laurentie served for many years as editor of the journal Quotidienne. Later, he led, together with F.-P. Lubis, the magazine l' Union ( before 1848 L'Union monarchique ), in the editorials he combined depth of thought with tasteful presentation.
