Pieve di Teco

Pieve di Teco ( in Ligurian: CEVE ) is a municipality with 1411 inhabitants ( 31 December 2012) in the northern Italian region of Liguria. Politically it belongs to the province of Imperia.

Geography

Pieve di Teco is part of the Alta Valle Arroscia and is about 25 kilometers from the provincial capital of Imperia. The mountain community has been ISO 14001 certified. Currently, a project to generate energy from thermal and biomass sources in planning, but vehemently rejected by the people.

According to the Italian classifications for seismic activity, the community of Zone 3 was assigned. This means that Pieve di Teco is located in a seismically inert zone.

Climate

The municipality is classified under climate category E, since the number of degree days has a value of 2290. This means that in Italy legally regulated heating season is between October 15 and April 15, for 14 hours each day.
