Pingtan County
Pingtan (Chinese平潭 县/平潭 县, Pinyin Pingtan Xian) is a circle, which belongs to the administrative area of the prefecture-level city of Fuzhou of southeast China's Fujian Province. Pingtan is located in southeastern Fuzhou. The circle is made up of 126 islands, islets and reefs nearly a thousand. The main island Haitan (海 坛 岛) is the fifth largest island in China. Pingtan has a land area of 371.7 km ² and a water area of approximately 2164 km ². The end of 2003 there were 386 100 inhabitants with main residence in Pingtan.

- Greater community Pingyuan (平原 镇), 22.9 km ², 26,000 inhabitants;
- Greater community Aodong (敖东 镇), 27.6 km ², 31,400 inhabitants;
- Community Baiqing (白 青 乡), 9.2 km ², 20,300 inhabitants;
- Community Yutou (屿 头 乡), 15.3 km ², 16,000 inhabitants;
- Dalian Municipality (大 练 乡), 14.7 km ², 9,000 inhabitants;
- Community Luyang (芦 洋 乡), 31 km ², 6,800 inhabitants;
- Community Zhonglou (中 楼乡), 25.7 km ², 22,500 inhabitants;
- Community Dongxiang (东 庠 乡), 5,6 km ², 10,000 inhabitants;
- Community Lancheng (岚 城乡), 34.2 km ², 23,000 inhabitants;
- Community Nanhai (南海 乡), 15.2 km ², 10,100 inhabitants.
