Pinuccio Sciola

Pinuccio Sciola ( born March 15, 1942 in San sperate in Sardinia ) is an Italian sculptor and an artist of Muralismo.

Life and work

As a student Sciola is an artistic self-taught. By participating in a competition of the Rinascente department store chain, he won a scholarship in 1959 at the Art Academy in Cagliari, where he studied until 1964. 1961 and 1962 he undertook cultural tours, such as Rome, Florence, Venice, Ravenna and Naples. In 1964 he attended the International Summer Academy in Salzburg for sculpture. From 1964 to 1965 he studied at the Pedagogical University in Florence and concludes as Magistero d' arte. In 1967 he obtained a grant for a study period in Spain, with which he can be a year at the Universidad Complutense de Madrid, in Madrid. From 1968 Sciola already created murals, in 1973 invited him to the UNESCO studies in Mexico. Under the influence of the works of the Mexican muralist David Alfaro Siqueiros Sciola is the trailer of the Muralismo. In 1986 he received a scholarship for a stay in Paris. From 1990 to 1996 Sciola taught sculpture at the Art Academy in Sassari.

Pinuccio Sciola lives and works in San sperate. His home town was made famous by him and other artists for their murals.

Exhibitions

In 1976 Sciola for Italy at the Venice Biennial in 1983 at the International Festival dei Due Mundi in Spoleto. His tone stones ( pietra musicale ) made ​​him known throughout the world.
