Pipamperone is a psychotropic drug from the group of low-potency neuroleptics. Accordingly, it is significantly less sedating and antipsychotic effect.

Desirable effects

Adverse effects

Other complaints in the CNS: occasionally been reported depression, fatigue and dizziness, insomnia, headaches and seizures.

Physical withdrawal symptoms: insomnia.

Application

Pipamperone is usually prescribed as sleeping tablets. It is also used in the treatment of elderly people and in mental illness as a sedative. Furthermore, it is administered to children with aggressive behavior. The plasma half-life amounts to 17-22 hours.
