Pipat Thonkanya

Pipat Thonkanya ( Thai: พิพัฒน์ ต้น กันยา, born January 4, 1979 in Bangkok ) is a Thai football player at the position of a striker. He plays for the Putra Samarinda Persisam in the Indonesia Super League.

Career

His career began Pipat in the youth team of FC Raj Pracha in 1997. Starting in 1999, he also played for the senior team of the club until the end of 2001 he moved to Vietnam in the V-League to Boss Bình Định. With the club he could celebrate his first title. In both 2003 and 2004 he won the Vietnamese Cup with the club. In his first season he also get nine goals. He then moved to FC within the League Dong Thap. The club, however, he rose from 2005 in the second Vietnamese league. After he was able to achieve the direct re-emergence with the club and his contract had expired, he went back to Thailand. From 2006 to 2007 he played for the former AFC Champions League finalists BEC Tero Sasana. In 2008 he celebrated his first championship. After his move from BEC Tero for PEA FC he had a large part in that his new club won the title. In 2009 he played for Thai Port FC. With the club he won the Thai FA Cup. It was the hero of the final. In the penalty shoot-out which turned the last and decisive penalty. That same evening, he told the fans that he will leave the club. Since October 2009, he plays in the Indonesia Super League for Persisam Putra Samarinda. With his goal to 1:1 in the 80th minute of the match against Persijap Jepara, he was a successful debut.

For the national side he played for the first time in 2000. He was in the squad of the King's Cup and took part in the finals of the AFC Asian Meisterschafter 2000 and 2007. He also belonged to the ASEAN Football Championship 2007 Thai squad.
