Piper PA-31 Navajo

The Piper PA -31 Navajo is a light twin-engine business and commuter aircraft of the U.S. aircraft manufacturer Piper Aircraft Corporation.

History

In the 1960s there was a need for a small twin-engine cargo, business and commuter aircraft. The subsequently developed by Piper Navajo denied its first flight on September 30, 1964. Deliveries began on 17 April 1967. The aircraft could be sold successfully at first. As demand collapsed in the 1980s, production had to be stopped after 2044 units had been built.

Versions

PA- 31 has been constructed in a variety of versions

  • PA 31-300 Navajo, basic design standard with 6 seats arranged in pairs next to the center aisle, facing forward. It has a cloakroom and a luggage compartment at the rear. Under elimination of this equipment can be mounted up to 9 seats. Commuterausführung as the machine with 8 seats, and a partition wall is provided behind the cockpit. The executive version is available with either this separation to the cockpit. The individual seats are, however, arranged opposite each other and provided with a table in the middle.
