Piperinic acid is a chemical compound selected from the group of carboxylic acids. Is the dioxole of diunsaturated valeric acid. The derived from the piperinic piperine is main alkaloid of black pepper ( Piper nigrum).
There are 3 other isomeric forms: Isopiperinsäure, Chavicinsäure, Isochavicinsäure. With piperidine form the acids amides (rarely also piperidides ) are counted as piperidines; Piperine is the piperinic - piperidine ( piperinic - piperidide ).
Oxidative degradation in alkaline solution arises from the piperinic piperonal used as a perfume ingredient.
Production and representation
Piperinic can be represented by an alkaline hydrolysis of piperine.
Use
Piperinic acid can be used in combination with piperidine in order to produce piperine.
