Pirate Party Luxembourg
The Pirate Party Luxemburg ( German Pirate Party Luxembourg, French Parti Pirate du Luxembourg ), short PPLU, is a political party in Luxembourg. It was founded on October 4, 2009 in the city of Luxembourg from 23 interested parties. She stepped to the chamber election in 2013 at the first time and reached 2.94 % of votes.
Programmatic
The program of PPLU is based on the Swedish Piratpartiet and other Pirate Parties. They lobby for civil rights, for enhanced data protection and privacy for individuals. She calls for more transparency in the state, free access to information and education. In addition, it calls for a fundamental reform of the copyright and patent system and is against any kind of censorship. She has the end of 2012 also set up an economic program and positioned itself to issues such as energy policy, family policy and banking secrecy. Organization
The Pirate Party has expanded since 2011 with the districts ( congruent with the electoral districts of the Grand Duchy ) north, south and center of its national structure. For the future it intends to develop the last district East and local sections. The latter are congruent with the communities of the Grand Duchy.
The president and co-founder Sven Clement is also a member of the Pirate Party of Germany and the Pirate Party Switzerland. Vice - president of the party since October 2012 Marc Goergen. Founding member and long-time Vice - President Jerry Weyer served from March 2010 to February 2011 as one of the two co- presidents of the Pirate Parties International ( PPI).
The Pirate Party Luxemburg is a member of Pirate Parties International, the umbrella organization of the international pirate party movement. It is also involved in the founding of the European Pirate Party and supported the organization Pirates without borders.
