Pirkanmaa

Pirkanmaa [ pirkɑnmɑ ː ] (Swedish Birkaland ) is one of 19 landscapes of Finland. It is located inland and adjacent to Satakunta, Päijät -Häme, Kanta -Häme, Southern Ostrobothnia and to Varsinais- Suomi. Historically a part of the western part of the Pirkanmaa to Satakunta, the eastern part to malice. From 1997 to 2009 Pirkanmaa belonged to the province of Western Finland, before she formed with Kanta -Häme and Päijät -Häme Häme province. Administrative seat and largest city of the landscape is Tampere.
