Pismo Beach is a city in San Luis Obispo County in the U.S. state of California, United States, with 8,700 inhabitants ( 2004). The metropolitan area has a size of 34.9 km ², of which 9.4 km ² land area.

Pismo Beach was founded in 1891 and is located about halfway between San Francisco and Los Angeles. The Pacific beach is partly navigable. On the cliffs of Pismo Beach large pelican colonies are to be found in the summer months.

Since 1996, Pismo Beach is accessible by train, the train station is nearby Grover Beach Amtrak Station.
