Pixiu

Pixiu (Chinese貔貅, Pinyin Pi Xiu, English pi xiu, etc., originally辟邪Chinese, Pinyin bì Xie, English pi xie called ) are creatures of Chinese mythology, resembling a lion, but have wings. They should drive away evil spirits. As decor, they are often found on fabrics, banners, belt hook, seals and bells. Particularly expressive they are shown in the stone sculptures in front of the emperor tombs of the Southern Dynasties.
