Piz Cristanas

The Piz Cristanas (also Piz Crist Annes, 3'092 m above sea level. M. ) is one of the most important peaks of the Sesvennagruppe. It is located northeast of S- charl in the Lower Engadine and southwest of the Schlinigpasses, the valley of the Schlinigtals Venosta. The Piz Cristanas located entirely on Swiss territory, only about 500 meters west of the border with Italy. Location

The Piz Cristanas is the highest point of a mountain Stocks north of Val Sesvenna. He sends three not particularly pronounced ridges. In the north- west it is separated by the Fuorcia Cornet ( 2'853 m above sea level. M. ) from the Piz d' Immez ( 3'033 m above sea level. M. ). The Fuorcia Cornet forms the end of the Val Cristanas, extending from the saddle to the northeast and is a tributary of the Val d' Uina. In the west ridge extends to the Piz Cornet ( 2,971 m above sea level. M. ) on a prominent pre-peak. The east ridge connects the Piz Piz Cristanas with Rims ( 3'067 m above sea level. M. ).

Ascent

The usual increase occurs from the east, from Fuorcla Sesvenna ( 2'819 m above sea level. M. ), with peaks exceeding the Schadler ( 2,948 m above sea level. The ascent of the ridge is not difficult, from Schadler Piz Rims you lose less than 50 meters in height, from the Piz Rims always find yourself above 3000 meters.
