Piz Maler

The Piz Maler ( 2,790 m above sea level. M. ) is a mountain in the eastern Gotthard Massif, located in the canton of Graubünden in Switzerland. He, together with the a little over five kilometers west lying Piz Badu ( 2'928 m above sea level. M. ) and Piz Giuv on the opposite side of the valley the frame of the top Anterior Rhine Valley ( Surselva ) slightly below the Oberalp Pass. The Piz painter forms the northern end of a side chain, the Piz Blas ( 3'019 m above sea level. M. ) north of the border with Ticino canton forming comb branches. This comb is framed on both sides by deep valleys, on the west by Val Curnera with the Lai da Curnera, to the east by Val Nalps with the Lai da Nalps. The southern neighbors of the Piz painters in this comb are Piz Ner ( 2'762 m above sea level. M. ) and Piz Paradis ( 2'884 m above sea level. M. ), of which the painter by the Fuorcia Piz da Tuma ( 2'580 m above sea level. M. ) is disconnected.

The Piz painter is best known as a ski touring destination. Ascended states is usually about the not-too- steep north-east ridge. The starting point is usually the little south of Sedrun hamlet of Surrein ( 1,380 m above sea level. M. ). Optionally, by using the funicular to the east of the mountain lying Lai da Nalps the increase be shortened. The descent may be made depending on the circumstances and by the steep north side of the mountain.
