Planetes

Planetes (Japaneseプラネテス) is a manga by Makoto Yukimura, who was also implemented as an anime. Planetes ( ΠΛΑΝΗΤΕΣ ) is the Greek word for hikers, from which derives the word planet. The manga is to be settled in the genre of science fiction.

Action

In 2075 part of the manned space for daily life. However, this pollution of the Earth's orbit adopted by space debris such an extent that it represents a major threat to spacecraft and space stations. The debris clearance department of Technora Corporation deemed to be collecting the most incompetent employee of the company. But in reality it is a highly specialized team of pilots and astronauts who give their best to rid the universe of scrap and make it a safer place. Among them are Ai Tanabe, the youngest member of the troupe, and Hachirota " Hachimaki " Hoshino.

Publications

Planetes appeared from 2000 to 2004 in his magazine Morning at Kodansha and was summarized in four volumes. In German the manga appeared completely at Planet Manga. The fourth volume was divided in Germany, as in the U.S., where the manga was published by Tokyopop, because of the large number of pages in two volumes.

Anime

The television series to manga was produced in 26 episodes from the studio Sunrise and aired from October 2003 to April 2004 on the Japanese television station NHK.

In Germany, the French distributor Beez Entertainment released the series from 2005 to 2006 on six DVDs of four to five episodes. On German television, the series was dubbed from August 10, 2010 broadcast on the pay- TV channel Animax.

Synchronization

The German synchronization comes from electric film.

In supporting roles are, inter alia, Nobutoshi Canna, Norio Wakamoto, Tōru Ōkawa and Soichiro Hoshi heard.

Awards

Planetes received the 2002 Seiun price, the highest Japanese science fiction award, in the category "Best Comic". At the International Comic Festival in Angoulême Planetes was awarded the 2004 prize for the best scenario.
