Plato (Exarch)

Plato was an East Roman Patrician and Exarch of Ravenna from about 646 to 649

He is known mainly for its Monothelitism and his opposition to Pope Theodore I. He convinced the Patriarch of Constantinople Opel Paul II, to break with the Pope.

Plato must have resided in Constantinople Opel early as the year 649, as that of Constans II command to the new exarch Olympius ( he should enforce the type in Italy and Pope Martin I. arrest ) shows. Plato emerges here as a counselor to the emperor.
