Playas de Castellón FS

Playas de Castellón Fútbol Sala is a Spanish futsal club based in Castellón de la Plana. The club currently playing in the División de Honor de Fútbol Sala, the top division of the country. Playas de Castellón experienced the most successful period between 2000 and 2003, when they could just as often conquer the UEFA Futsal Cup twice and the Spanish title.

History

Playas de Castellón was founded in 1983 by workers of the company Macer, as a club Macer FS, in the small town Almazora. After a number of regional successes, and the rise in the first Liga in 1989, the club eventually moved in 1994 to the provincial capital Castellón de la Plana to, and participated in the current club name Playas de Castellón. The first league title, the Association celebrated in the season 1999/ 00, and successfully defended it in the following year. The person entitled to participate in the first UEFA Futsal Cup, which they won by a 5-1 victory in the final against the Belgian Action 21 Charleroi. As defending one was also represented in the highest European tournament of the season 2002/ 03, and could, in a rematch of the final, win the trophy again, this time by 1-1 in the away game and a 6:4 in Castellón.
