Playtone

Playtone is an American film and television production company. It was founded in 1996 by Tom Hanks and Gary Goetzman, and has its headquarters in Santa Monica.

Hanks and Goetzman got to know in 1993 while working at Philadelphia, where Hanks played the lead role and participated Goetzman as executive producer. As Hanks had written his first screenplay ( That Thing You Do!, 1996), he asked Goetzman to produce the film as well as to write some songs. Thus appeared the first publication at Playtone - whose name goes back to the film occurring, fictional record company "Play Tone Records " - the soundtrack to That Thing You Do!. The first film was produced by Playtone Castaway - Disappeared from the year 2000.

As a result, Playtone produced numerous internationally known films and television series.
