Plenarium

A plenary (also Plenarium, plural: plenaries, from Latin Plenus = full, see also the plenary) is a liturgical book as completely as possible connects anthology for practical use texts that are otherwise found in various codices.

A Plenarmissale ( Missale Plenarium ) connects the prayers of the Missal with the readings of the lectionary in a band.

Plenary sessions of the Middle Ages were often very elaborately designed, such as the plenary Otto the Mild in the Guelph Treasure.

In the early Middle Ages (before the 12th century ) shall adopt the list Plenarium usually referring to a gospel book (eg Gospel Book of St. Georg in Cologne, Codex Millenarius in Kremsmuenster ).

In the late Middle Ages and in the early days of printing plenary refers to a folk linguistic work, which usually provides the complete pericopes of the church year, along with an introduction. These plenary sessions can be viewed as precursors of mags.
