Plérin
Plérin is a commune with 14,020 inhabitants (as of January 1, 2011 ) in the department of Côtes- d'Armor in the Brittany region. It belongs administratively to the arrondissement of Saint- Brieuc and Canton Plérin, whose main town ( chef -lieu ) it is. Plérin is a member of the Association of Municipalities Communauté d' agglomération de Saint- Brieuc. Residents Plérinais call themselves.
Geography
The community is located just north of Saint- Brieuc, bordered to the east in the Gulf of Saint- Malo in the English Channel. Neighboring municipalities are:
- Pordic in the north,
- Saint- Brieuc in the south,
- Ploufragan in the southwest and
- Trémuson in the West.
The municipal seat is located four kilometers inland, the actual seaside village called Saint -Laurent de la Mer A little further north is the beach resort Les Rosaires on the same beach Plage des Rosaires. On the southern boundary of the municipality coast river Gouët runs and flows with a small estuary into the sea. Here is the place Le Légué with its marina.
Transport links
The municipality is traversed in a north-south direction from the department D786 road that leads to the coastline following to Saint -Brieuc. Coming from the west, the highway-like -developed N12 national road reaches the coast, swings here and crossed to the south with a viaduct the valley of the river Gouët. In the far west, just beyond the municipal boundary, the airport is located Saint- Brieuc - Armor.

The Viaduc de Souzain was a monument historique registered as railway and road bridge over the Gouët that built in the early 20th century, but blown up in 1995 and was demolished.
