Pleudihen-sur-Rance
Pleudihen -sur -Rance ( Breton: Pleudehen ) is a commune of the department of Côtes- d'Armor in the Brittany region. Administratively, it is assigned to the district Dinan and the Dinan -Est Canton.
Geography
The small town with 2817 inhabitants (as of 1 January 2011) located in the northeast of Brittany 20 km south of Saint Malo on the right bank of the southern estuary of the Rance River and is known for its cider.

Pleudihen -sur -Rance is famous for its apple orchards and Cidreherstellung, therefore, often called " Cidrehauptstadt " ( Capitale du Cidre ). Remarked François -René de Chateaubriand from Saint Malo that here " plow and boat are just a stone 's throw away " (La charrue et le doris sont à un jet de pierre. )
Attractions
A distinctive feature and main attraction of the place is the apple and Cidremuseum ( Musée de la Pomme et du Cidre ), picturesquely housed in a farmhouse. Besides a large number of varieties of apples and apple tree species obtained insight into the local methods of production of cider and may participate in tastings.
The neo-Gothic church of Notre Dame ( " Our Lady's Church " ) was inaugurated on October 28, 1878 in place of a Romanesque church and completed in October 1880 after thirteen years of construction.
Community partnership
Pleudihen -sur -Rance maintains since 1979 a partnership with the Rhineland-Palatinate, Herschbach local church.
