Way of life
The oligophagen caterpillars feed mainly in rolled leaves of stinging nettles (Urtica dioica). Less frequently, the caterpillars are also on hops ( Humulus ), goosefoot ( Chenopodium ), Sign ( Atriplex ) and Spier shrubs ( Spiraea ) to find.
Flight times and caterpillars
The Nesselzünsler forms two generations a year, and then fly from May to June, again from July to September. The caterpillars are in June and then to meet again in August. The caterpillar overwinters.
