Ploubezre

Ploubezre ( Breton: Ploubêr ) is a commune with 3451 inhabitants (as of January 1, 2011 ) in the department of Côtes- d'Armor in the Brittany region.

History

The place name is from the Breton words Plou ( " community " ) and Per ( " Peter " ) composed, so it means " Peter's church". As a Plebe Petri the place name was first mentioned in the 14th century.

Attractions

The Kergrist castle was built in the 15th century and rebuilt in the 17th century. It is privately owned and was registered in 1926 in the Additional List of Monuments historiques (historical monuments ) ( inscrit MH).

The parish church from the 16th century and the stone crosses Les cinq croix (the five crosses) from the 18th century are also Monuments historiques.
