District Portsall

The district Portsall ( Breton Porsall ) is located a few kilometers north-west of the main town on the Côte des Abers. The town achieved notoriety when on 16 March 1978, the tanker Amoco Cadiz wrecked near the coast and reached the oil spill first the small natural harbor of the village before it was distributed within a few days more than 300 km of coastline. A giant, semi- broken anchor of the Amoco Cadiz at the end of the pier still reminds us of the disaster. In Spring low water in spring and autumn sometimes wreck remains can be seen protruding from the water surface.

The Allée couverte of Guilliguy is a sea near " Dolmen á coudé " on a promontory above the harbor of Portsall.

Ile Carn

The megalithic site on the Ile Carn was close in time to that of Barnenez ( about 4200 BC) making it one of the oldest megalithic sites in the world.
