Ploughman's lunch

A Ploughman 's Lunch is a common in the UK cold meal.

The classic, rather spartan composition consists of a thick slice of cheese ( cheddar), pickle ( Branston Pickle mostly, otherwise piccalilli and / or Pickled Onions ), a thick slice of bread and butter.

As a side dish can be served in addition ham, lettuce and tomato.

The Ploughman 's Lunch is preferably served in pubs.
