The Plovdiv International Airport or Krumowo airport is in Bulgaria near the village Krumowo, about 20 km south from the second largest city in the country, Plovdiv. It is a joint venture, which is distributed to 58.08 % to the Danish company Nordic Airport Infrastructure ApS to 36 % of the Bulgarian state and 6% for private lenders. Since December 2010 flies twice a week, the Irish airline Ryanair airport of London and Frankfurt Hahn to. In May 2011, another line was opened from Plovdiv to Bergamo / Milan, but this was discontinued in early 2012. In 2013, the line to London is extended to 3 flights per week, and added the line to Frankfurt Hahn again. The Russian air company prior S7 Airlines operates a seasonal flight line in winter to Moscow Domodedovo. Otherwise land in Plovdiv charter flights from Ireland and Russia, as well as private flights. The number of passengers was in 2012 at about 75 000 passengers.

Museum

At the western end of the airport is the Bulgarian aviation museum that displays in the first hall documents, uniforms, medals and photos. In the second hall airplane models or the grounds 70 aircraft are on display, including an original Arado Ar 196

Connection

The airport is only accessible by private car or taxi. The nearest train station is located about three kilometers away on the route Plovdiv - Asenovgrad, the compounds are not coordinated with the exhaust and approaches. A bus service is not currently (as of January 2013).
