Podkarpackie Voivodeship

The Subcarpathian Voivodeship (Polish: województwo podkarpackie [ vɔjɛvut͡stfɔ pɔtkarpatsk ʲ ɛ ] ) is one of the 16 regions, which divide the Republic of Poland. It is located in the extreme southeastern Poland on the San River and borders the Ukraine and Slovakia.

In the south, the landscape is dominated by the Carpathian Mountains, is the capital Rzeszów.

Description: Red and blue cut with a silver paw cross on the gap; forward a left inverted gold reinforced and winning silver grip and rear a langued and so reinforced golden lion with crown.

The province is divided into 21 Powiats ( counties ), where four cities are cycle-free. The counties named after them they do not belong to themselves.

Economy

The Subcarpathian Voivodeship is one of the poorest regions in the EU. Expressed in comparison with the EU GDP in purchasing power standards reached the province in 2006 an index of 35.8 (EU-27 = 100). The unemployment rate in 2005 was 16.7%. Until December 2009 it dropped to 15.5 percent, which corresponded to 141,900 people .. The unemployment rate was in June 2010 at 14.7%.
